Your Sunny Weather Prep Starts Now!

Your Sunny Weather Prep Starts Now!

It might be chilly outside now, but it’s only a few short months until the kick off of Spring Break — and then, just like that, the return of summer!

You know what that means: Now is the ideal time to schedule skin, body and injectable treatments you want completed before you say hello to the sunshine.

Why now, you ask? Some laser skin treatments, for example, require patients to avoid sun exposure during the recovery period — something that can be frustrating when friends and family are soaking up the sun. And treatments like CoolSculpting, for example, might require more than one treatment, a period of time between treatments and additional time to see maximum results.

Let’s take a look at a few of the treatments you should book now so you are ready for that sun, from head to toe:

Treatment: CoolSculpting

Number of Treatments: Vary

Treatment Schedule: A minimum of 30 days between treatments, depending on the area treated

Treatment Areas: Underarms, upper arms, abdomen, love handles, muffin top, bra area back fat, inner and outer thighs, fat above the knees, banana roll & chin

CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical, scientifically proven way to reduce pockets of fat in trouble spots. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good! The best way to maintain your results from CoolSculpting is to continue with following a healthy diet and exercise regimen. If you do gain weight, it will be evenly distributed throughout the body — not just back in the areas that were treated with CoolSculpting. In addition to the commonly known areas like the abdomen, thighs and love handles, CoolSculpting is also a great option for unexpected areas, like the dreaded “double chin” and the banana roll. For the chin area, Coolsculpting can reduce the thickness of subcutaneous fat in the submentum. Kybella (which usually is completed in two-to-four sessions that are six-to-eight weeks apart) is a popular treatment for that area — but many patients are turning to CoolSculpting because it’s a less invasive procedure. We perform both of these treatments here at A360 and will work with you to determine your best course of treatment.

Treatment: QWO (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes)

Number of Treatments: 3 treatments

Treatment Schedule: 3 weeks apart

Treatment Areas: Buttocks

New and noteworthy! QWO (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes) is a first of its kind — a non-surgical injectable treatment that treats the cause of cellulite. The result? A noticeable reduction in the appearance of cellulite and an overall smoother skin appearance in the treated area. QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for cellulite, and the enzymes in QWO — called collagenases — are believed to target a structural cause of cellulite under your skin. It’s a non-surgical option, which is injected over three sessions, spaced three weeks apart. The injections take as little as 10 minutes per session — and some women see results as soon as 10 weeks after the third session. Schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our QWO Pros to learn more, then say “See ya, bum bumps!”

Treatment: BroadBand Light (BBL)

Number of Treatments: Usually 3 treatments

Treatment Schedule: 4 weeks apart

Treatment Areas: Usually face, neck, chest & hands (all body areas can be treated)

BBL sessions are great for addressing a variety of skin concerns, including acne, age spots, sun damage, broken blood vessels, hyperpigmentation, redness, rosacea and more. BBL is already considered to be the gold standard for Intense Pulsed Light treatments — and our new BBL HERO laser is the most state-of-the-art laser in the market. BBL technology improves skin tone by targeting damaged skin cells with the use of intense light wavelengths. Skin cells are stimulated and regenerated, restoring skin to a rejuvenated, smooth and vibrant appearance. And since you’ll need a few treatments to see results — and you should avoid prolonged sun exposure during this time — winter is the ideal season for BBL downtime.

Treatment: Laser Hair Removal

Number of Treatments: 6-8 treatments

Treatment Schedule: 4-6 weeks apart

Treatment Areas: Underarms, bikini line, legs, face, back & chest

Laser hair removal is a popular option during winter because it assures silky-smooth skin by summer. The treatment schedule is firm at four-to-six weeks apart, no matter the area of the body you are treating. We always recommend getting multiple laser hair removal treatments because the treatment targets the active phase of the hair growth cycle. Not all hair is in the active phase at once. When hair is in the resting phase, it can’t properly absorb light or generate enough heat to cause damage to the growth center. It’s also important to remember you cannot wax or tweeze the area within six weeks of your treatment, so put down that tweezers right now!
