Cellulite Treatments in Milwaukee
Taking the Stigma Out of Cellulite
We’re tired of the stigma surrounding cellulite. If you’ve got bumps and dimples on your buttocks, you’re part of a large club that includes 9 out of 10 women. So there’s no reason to be ashamed of your cellulite!
No matter what your age or body type, most women will develop cellulite at some point in their life. That’s why we are dedicated to talking about cellulite, assuring women they aren’t alone and providing effective cellulite treatments in Milwaukee.
In this blog, we address how cellulite affects women of all shapes and sizes, and what you can do if you’re ready to say “see ya!” to your cellulite.
Where does cellulite come from?
There are three factors that combine to create cellulite:
- Fibrous Bands: Underneath the skin is a pattern of fibrous bands. Over time, these bands thicken, which causes tension on the skin above it. This tension is what causes the dimpled appearance on the skin’s surface.
- Skin Laxity: Fatty tissue thins out, making your skin thinner. The looser your skin, the more space fat cells have to fill — creating a more dramatic appearance of cellulite.
- Fat: Fat cells enlarge and push into the skin, while the thickened fibrous bands pull down, creating an uneven skin surface.
These three factors come together to cause the common dimpling of the skin that we all associate with cellulite. Other factors like hormones, genetics, skin texture and body type all play into cellulite development, too.
Who develops cellulite?
The short answer? Almost every woman. About 9 out of 10 women will develop cellulite during their lifetime. Women develop cellulite at a much higher rate than men because women typically develop fat in their thighs, hips and buttocks — where cellulite thrives.
Women’s fat cells are also larger than men’s, thanks to estrogen. Those larger skin cells push into the skin as thickened fibrous bands pull down, creating an uneven skin surface.
Cellulite doesn’t develop because of weight gain or lack of exercise either. Lean people have cellulite, too — and losing weight won’t necessarily reduce cellulite’s appearance.
The fact that weight isn’t the biggest factor in its development makes cellulite all the more frustrating since it feels like there’s nothing you can do to stop it.
Are there effective cellulite treatments?
Women have experimented with many ways of reducing their cellulite over the years. From creams to scrubs, results are minimal and temporary. Until recently, there wasn’t an effective cellulite treatment in Milwaukee that addressed the actual cause of cellulite.
AESTHETICS 360° is now the first medical spa in Milwaukee to offer the groundbreaking new treatment QWO®, the first and only FDA-approved injectable for cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
QWO is an enzyme that essentially destroys the collagen in the thick fibrous bands of your body. Injected in three sessions, this treatment is a non-surgical option for reducing the appearance of cellulite. The injections take as little as 10 minutes per session, and some women see results as soon as 10 weeks after their final session!
