Eye bag treatment in Milwaukee

It’s Time for Your Under Eye Hollows to Pack their Bags

Eyes have been said to reflect a person’s spirit, their character—Shakespeare claimed they are the windows to the soul. They definitely take up a prominent place in the composition of the face. They are the most central feature and the hardest to ignore.

The space around the eyes is essential to facial balance. It is immediately apparent when someone is tired or drained just by seeing the bags and dark circles under their eyes. For some of us, we can’t seem to get rid of them, even when we are well rested.

If you’re tired of looking tired all the time, under eye fillers can be a great solution. At Aesthetics 360, we use dermal fillers for eye bag treatment in Milwaukee. We achieve results that not only reduce the appearance of undereye bags, but with under eye filler we can also help eliminate the shadows around your eyes to brighten your entire face and create facial balance.

How We Treat Under Eye Bags

The term “eye bags” can be a bit misleading. We use this term to describe several different things we might see beneath our lower lids. When we begrudge our “eye bags,” we can mean:

  • Under eye swelling or puffiness
  • Dark circles
  • Crepey skin
  • Under eye hollows

In many cases, what may look like an under eye problem might actually be an effect of volume loss in the adjacent cheek or midface region. Under eye hollows can be due to aging, genetics, or both. The specific causes of under eye hollows are as follows:

  • Tissue depletion and volume loss
  • Connective tissue weakness
  • Skin laxity
  • Deposits of fat under the eyes
  • Descending cheek fat caused by atrophy

In some cases, to resolve the appearance of under eye hollows, another treatment such as a cheek filler is actually more appropriate. But we’ll get to more on that later.

Restylane: High-Quality Dermal Filler

If it is under eye treatment you need, dermal fillers are used to treat this area. For those unfamiliar, dermal fillers are a class of injectables. Dermal fillers add volume to skin and are used especially around sensitive areas of the face.

Many dermal fillers use ingredients that naturally occur in the body, providing a safer solution to volume loss and one that is more readily accepted by the body. At Aesthetics 360, we only use the highest-quality, FDA-approved fillers.

The area around the eyes is the most delicate area on the face. That’s why we use Restylane, a best-in-class dermal filler for eye bag treatment in Milwaukee. Restylane is a high-quality hyaluronic acid gel filler.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance produced by your cells. It is well-known in the world of aesthetics for its ability to hold an enormous amount of moisture. Each particle of hyaluronic acid can hold an amount of water up to 1,000 times its own weight.

For under eye treatment, Restylane is skillfully placed into the tear troughs area. This injection has double the effect. First, the hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin in this area, plumping the skin cells to increase volume. Then the acid stimulates collagen production to give continued, fresh fullness, even after the filler has been absorbed by the body.

Results are subtle but can provide a more well-rested and rejuvenated appearance.

Consultation Prior to Treatment

Before we begin any of our aesthetic treatments, an educational and fully transparent consultation is required. The under eye area is especially delicate. Furthermore, under eye fillers are not always the solution to what may look like an under eye problem.

During your consultation, we will perform an anatomic assessment of your facial features and review in detail what to expect from your treatment. We take this time to teach you about the factors that go into the appearance of under eye hollows and answer any of your questions.

Anatomic Assessment

The anatomic assessment of your facial features plays an important part in your eye bag treatment in Milwaukee. We complete this assessment for 2 reasons:

#1: While under eye filler is the second-most requested treatment (just after lip filler), only 1 in 10 individuals is a suitable candidate for this treatment.

For the under eye area, we always begin with an assessment of the midface and cheek area. Loss of volume in this area can lead to a more prominent appearance of under eye hollowing. Many clients who come in for under eye fillers actually require cheek fillers to resolve under eye hollows. In many cases, treating the midface can resolve the problem.

#2: For any treatment in this area, facial harmony among all of the features is an essential consideration.

Every person has a unique aesthetic form. The face must be assessed as a whole to determine if a treatment is suitable. With an anatomical assessment, we can consider adjacent facial areas that might have signs of aging or loss of volume and structure.

Treatment Review

Education runs through every step of our treatment process. As aesthetic providers, our education never stops. We keep up-to-date with research on best treatment practices and the newest tech. It is just as important to us to pass this education on to our patients.

In every stage of your treatment process, we take care to educate and explain our process. From the observations we make during your consultation, to the way we design and implement our treatments, we will always be transparent and partner with you on your aesthetic journey.

When it comes to facial treatments, it’s important to look at the big picture. At Aesthetics 360, we give you a 360-degree perspective. We want you looking your best from every angle. For under eye treatments, that means assessing every angle and creating a comprehensive treatment plan to give you full facial balance.

A 360° perspective also means we will never recommend a treatment that is not suitable for you. Some under eye issues can only be addressed with cosmetic surgery, whereby we will refer you to a board-certified plastic surgeon if you choose to pursue a consultation.

Beginning Your Eye Bag Treatment in Milwaukee

As part of your in-depth, free consultation, our Nurse Specialist will review our gallery of before and after photos with you to show you the capabilities of under eye treatment with dermal filler. It is important to remember that individual results will vary; however, these treatment photos will be able to give you a good idea of what results can look like.

Treatment Details

If we determine you are a good candidate for under eye filler we will provide a customized treatment plan and quote for you to take home and think about. Or if you’re ready to go, an appointment will be scheduled for you before you leave the office.

On the day of your appointment you will be comfortably seated in a treatment chair in one of our private rooms. Your Nurse Specialist will provide an overview once again, and an informed consent form will be presented for your review and signature. Any outstanding questions will be addressed and a series of “before” photos will be taken so we can track results.

We begin the treatment by cleansing the treatment area using aseptic technique. With guidance from our state-of-the-art Accuvein “vein finder,” we will mark the points of injection to ensure precision and decrease potential bruising.

During your treatments, there are 2 particularly notable state of the art technologies we implement especially for eye bag treatment in Milwaukee: our Clarius facial aesthetic ultrasound and our cannula injector.

Clarius Ultrasound for Facial Aesthetics

Aesthetic ultrasound is an essential tool for an advanced treatment like under eye filler. We are 1 of only 2 practices in Milwaukee that have this tool.

This device is able to evaluate structures beneath the skin, including fat and muscle that otherwise can’t be seen. This capability is important for proper placement of the filler to avoid arteries and vascularity that could cause complications.

There are many areas in the face that must be avoided for a successful and aesthetically pleasing outcome. In addition, if an injected filler ever needs to be dissolved, an ultrasound device is essential to target exactly where it is and completely dissolve it without harm to adjacent areas.

Cannula Injector

The second essential tool we use for under eye filler is a cannula injector. The under eye area is very delicate. A cannula injector uses a blunt tip to minimize discomfort. The cannula can go deep under muscle, injecting the filler into the appropriate plane for the desired aesthetic result. This tool helps us provide a safer and more accurate filler placement.

From start to finish, your appointment will last 1½ to 2 hours.

Aftercare

We will finish up your treatment by taking some additional photos to begin tracking your progress in the coming weeks as the treatment site recovers and the treatment takes on its full effect.

You will see results immediately after your treatment, but as this is such a sensitive area, bruising and swelling are common. We will send you home with a complete care guide. Recovery can be immediate, or it can take up to 2 weeks or more; each patient’s body heals on a slightly different timeline.

Make sure you keep the treated area clean, don’t touch it, and do not apply makeup or any other products for a day after your treatment.

We will schedule a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks’ time to take more photos and discuss the next steps in your treatment plan if needed.

Timing and Duration of Results

If your eye bag treatment in Milwaukee is in preparation for an event, you should plan your treatment for an absolute minimum of 3 to 4 weeks before the event. Many patients leave their appointments without any visible signs of treatment. However, there is always the chance your body will respond to the treatment with bruising or swelling.

It’s not worth taking a gamble on the results of your treatment without giving yourself ample time for recovery.

2-4 weeks after your treatment, you will be able to see your complete results.
