Treatments to fight against visible signs of aging

There comes a point when you may face the telltale signs of aging—fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and more—but it doesn’t mean there’s nothing you can do about it. In fact, there are tons of aesthetic treatments at reputable medical spas that target aging and can even help prevent future aging. If you’re looking to rewind the hands of time and/or boost collagen for soft, supple skin, here are a few of our favorites.

Botox & Jeuveau

Most people have heard of Botox and Jeuveau, yet many still don’t know exactly what they do. Yes, they’re used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, but how?

Both injectables are neurotoxins designed to fight against muscle-induced wrinkles (think: squinting, frowning and puckering). By blocking the chemical that causes muscle contractions, Botox and Jeuveau (also known as Newtox) stop wrinkles and fine lines from forming.

The great thing about neurotoxins is they can be used for all skin types—and for both men and women. They’re even perfect for people in their 20s to combat signs of aging before they emerge.

So what is the difference between the two?

Botox has been around a bit longer, so you may be more familiar with it. It’s made from a bacterium called clostridium botulinum. On the other hand, Newtox is one of the newest neurotoxins to hit the market and especially effective for glabellar lines (lines between the brows). Created using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process called Hi-Pure™ technology, Jeuveau is truly the first and only product of its kind.

If you aren’t sure which option would work best for you, our aesthetic nurse specialists will be happy to help! And don’t worry about a frozen, unnatural appearance, at A360, our philosophy of care is all about natural, harmonious results that make you look like you just had the best night of sleep in your life, or a great vacation! Relaxed, refreshed and confident.

Dermal Fillers

Many people use the word “fillers” synonymously with Botox, but dermal fillers and Botox are not the same.

Remember, Botox relaxes muscles so they won’t contract. However, dermal fillers treat facial volume loss by injecting hyaluronic acid gel directly into the skin.

Take a look at some of your skincare products. You may find a lot of them contain at least some amount of hyaluronic acid. That’s because hyaluronic acid is your body’s natural way of combating visible signs of aging. Since it binds to water, it has amazing moisture-replenishing effects. It can also boost collagen production to keep you looking younger for longer.

Dermal fillers aren’t reserved for one area of your face. In fact, with the variety of options such as Restylane Kysse, Juvederm and Voluma, you can get fillers in your:

BBL (Broadband Light) Photofacial

BBL Photofacial uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to rejuvenate the skin and reduce visible signs of aging. Broadband Light is the most powerful form of intense pulsed light. Laser therapy uses ablative or non-ablative wavelengths. Ablative wavelengths target the top layer of skin (epidermis) while non-ablative wavelengths target the deeper layers (dermis).

IPL uses light therapy, which is always a non-ablative technique. Pulses of controlled, high-intensity light heat your skin’s tissue, kickstarting the body’s natural healing process. During healing, fibroblasts (collagen-producing cells) work overtime to create more collagen. That means you’ll continue to see your results improve long after your treatment is done.

Since the dermis is left unharmed, a BBL Photofacial greatly reduces downtime and discomfort, while still attacking a variety of skin conditions such as:

    • Age spots
    • Freckles
    • Rosacea
    • Small blood vessels
    • Uneven skin tone

As a result, skin becomes clearer, smoother and more youthful with less risk

Treatments to exfoliate and refresh

When you’re younger, cellular turnover moves quickly, allowing you to have smooth, fresh skin 24/7. But as the years pass, your cellular turnover rate slows down. That means old cells stick to the surface longer, which can leave your skin dull, flat and textured.

Fortunately, when you receive medical spa treatments, you open the door for a variety of exfoliation and skin rejuvenating options to get your skin back in the best shape. Plus, exfoliation can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines—a double win.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are incredibly effective for skin resurfacing and exfoliation. They are also a great companion to your everyday skincare routine. Chemical peels are full of replenishing ingredients that shed the top layer of skin to reveal the beautiful, fresh skin that lies below.

The great thing about peels is their versatility; you can get one as mild or strong as you’d like, meaning you can specifically cater a chemical peel to your unique needs. Since chemical peels are so customizable, they can treat skin conditions such as:

    • Acne scars
    • Acne
    • Fine lines & wrinkles
    • Sun damage
    • Discoloration
    • Freckles
    • Melasma
    • Age spots
    • Uneven texture and tone

Chemical peels can range in intensity from light peels to deep peels. However, if you’re new to peels, we highly recommend you start light and slowly work your way up.

Microneedling

Microneedling is the professional treatment available at most medical spas that gives real skin rejuvenation results. Unlike a dermaroller that could damage your skin, a microneedling treatment involves an innovative device that uses hundreds of tiny needles to puncture the skin in highly targeted ways.

The needles create micro wounds that trigger the body’s natural healing process. As a result, it boosts cellular turnover and collagen production. Microneedling treatments are often paired with skin-loving serums to give you the best age-rewinding results possible.

Microneedling is a great way to reverse skin conditions such as:

    • Acne scars & stretch marks
    • Injury or trauma scars
    • Sun damage
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Rough skin texture
    • Enlarged pores
    • Fine lines & wrinkles
    • Dull, sallow skin

SaltFacial

A SaltFacial is one of the latest and greatest advanced medical facials on the market. If you have congested, dull skin you could reap the benefits of natural sea salt exfoliation, cavitation ultrasound and high-powered LED therapy in a relaxing 60-minute session.

Salt has great antibacterial properties, which allows this one-of-a-kind facial to target acne at the source. And unlike table salt, sea salt is full of minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium, which help firm and moisturize the skin.

The three-step SaltFacial available as one of our medical spa treatments in Milwaukee restores, replenishes and rejuvenates all skin types, addressing acne, pigmentation, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores. Visible results are achieved even after only one session. With regular treatments, you can see dramatically improved and healthy skin.

Bonus: Medical spa treatments for your body

We have a surprise! Medical spas don’t just offer treatments for your skin; there are also options that target your entire body. There’s no harm in combining any of the above treatments with a body treatment for a full-on pamper session.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a one-of-a-kind treatment to blast away unwanted fat. By using cryolipolysis technology, this innovative device sucks up tissue in the target area(s) to keep fat cells at the surface. From there, cold temperatures freeze fat cells, and once they’re gone, they’re never coming back!

As a result, professional cryolipolysis treatments like CoolSculpting can effectively target fat cells without freezing or harming the surrounding water-rich cells (such as your skin cells).

No downtime, no surgery, no compression garments…Coolsculpting really works!

Since the device is so versatile, CoolSculpting can treat fat on areas such as your:

    • Chin
    • Love handles
    • Thighs
    • Muffin top
    • And more!

A built-in safety device monitors how cold your skin gets and will shut off if temperatures fall below a certain level. So if you’re wondering whether CoolSculpting is considered safe, then your answer is yes!  Used since 2010, over 7 million treatments have been performed worldwide. Now that’s cool!

Laser Hair Removal

With laser hair removal, you can finally say goodbye to waxing and daily shaving. Here’s how: Laser hair removal technology uses light to target hair follicles. The pigment in the hair shaft absorbs that light, which destroys its growth center (no, they can’t come back!). You will need multiple initial treatments to catch hair during its growing phase. Most people require 6 to 8 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
